Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 September 2026. Draft — this page will be reviewed before Atomi is available publicly.
This Policy explains what information Atomi collects, why, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. It applies to everyone who uses Atomi and to the people whose details you enter into it.
1.Information we collect
We collect only what the service requires to function:
- Account data. Your name and email address.
- Production data. Budgets, rates, schedules, departments and any notes you record against a project.
- Third-party contact details. Names and, where you choose to provide them, phone numbers of cast, crew and vendors you engage.
- Screenplays and related documents. Handled under Section 3, which governs them specifically.
- Budget sheets you import. An Excel file or Google Sheet you ask Atomi to read, handled under Section 3.
We do not collect location data, device identifiers for advertising, or browsing activity outside Atomi.
2.How we use it
Your information is used to operate the service you have asked for: producing breakdowns, calculating budgets, recording commitments and making your projects available to the people you invite. We also use it to secure accounts, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.
3.Screenplays and other creative material
A screenplay uploaded to Atomi remains the property of its copyright holder. Uploading it grants Atomi a limited licence to process it solely to produce the breakdown and budget you have requested, and for no other purpose.
The uploaded file is never retained. It is processed and permanently destroyed at the end of the request in which it was submitted. It is not written to storage, backed up, or retained in any form.
Extracted text is retained for up to forty-five (45) days. The text Atomi reads from your script is kept for that period so that further analysis — costing, scheduling and risk assessment — can be performed without asking you to upload the document again. Nothing is retained until you confirm, at the point of upload, that you are entitled to submit the screenplay and accept these terms. Uploading is not possible before that confirmation is given.
Retained text is deleted automatically at the end of the retention period. You may request its deletion sooner at any time. Deleting the associated project deletes it immediately.
The breakdown, and the text of each scene, are kept with the project. What Atomi records about each scene when it reads the script (its heading, the characters and locations in it, its length, a one-line description of what happens in it, and the scene's text as written, including its dialogue) is kept for as long as the project is, so the schedule can show each scene after the text above is deleted. It is visible only to members of the project, and is deleted with the project.
An imported budget file is retained for sixty (60) days. When you import a budget from an Excel file or a Google Sheet, the file and the lines read from it are kept for that period, so that each finding Atomi shows you can point to the cell it came from. They are deleted automatically at the end of the period; the budget you confirmed from them remains part of your production. Deleting the associated project deletes them immediately, and you may request their deletion sooner.
We claim no ownership of your creative material and assert no rights over the films made from it.
4.We do not train on your data
Atomi does not use your screenplays, production data or any other content you provide to train, fine-tune or improve artificial intelligence models, whether our own or anyone else’s.
Where a third-party model is used to analyse a script, it is used under contractual terms that prohibit retention of the submitted content and prohibit its use for model training. Your material is processed and discarded.
5.We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, license or otherwise make your personal information or production data available to third parties for their own purposes. We do not operate advertising, and we do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.
We share information only with service providers who host and operate Atomi on our behalf, bound by contract to process it only on our instructions; and where disclosure is required by law, in which case we will notify you unless prohibited from doing so.
6.Contact details of cast, crew and vendors
Where you enter another person’s name or contact details, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so, and Atomi processes them solely on your instructions. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you act as the Data Fiduciary for that information and Atomi acts as a Data Processor.
People you work with are kept once, in your own directory, so the same crew can be chosen again on your next production. Their contact details are visible to the members of the productions they are on, the producers and production team you invite, and are used only to contact them about that work. They are never shown on a budget or a breakdown, and never sent to an artificial intelligence model.
A person stays in your directory until you remove them, which you can do once they are on no production. Deleting a production removes who was on it, not your directory. If a person asks to be removed, their contact details are deleted from your directory, and where a production’s history must keep a record, their name is replaced.
7.Who can access a project
Access is restricted to the people you invite, at the level of access you grant them. An individual engaged on a production sees their own dates and fee, and no other figures. Our personnel do not access your production data except where you ask us to investigate a problem, or where required to maintain the security of the service.
8.Retention and deletion
Production data is retained for as long as your account remains open. Retained screenplay text is deleted after forty-five (45) days, and an imported budget file after sixty (60) days. People in your directory stay until you remove them. Deleted projects are recoverable for thirty (30) days and are then permanently removed.
You may request deletion of your account and all data within it at any time. We will comply within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required by law.
9.Your rights
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, or a copy in portable form. Where you have consented to script retention, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the service. Requests are handled within thirty (30) days.
10.Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict every record to the project it belongs to. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
11.Changes to this Policy
We will give notice before any change that materially reduces the protection of information already collected. Continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance. Where a change concerns material you have already uploaded, we will seek your consent rather than rely on notice.
12.Contact
Reply to any Atomi email and it reaches a person. Questions about this Policy, and requests under Section 9, are answered the same way.
